Give it to me straight – what is an essential oil and how does it work? The chemistry of essential oils is absolutely fascinating. Essential oils are the life force of the plant ! They are derived from leaves, bark flowers ,steams, roots and berries,and citrus peels! When they are distilled properly, essential oils have the ability to do for US what they do for the plants.
Essential oils can help support our physical, mental and emotional well-being by triggering and strengthening our bodies’ own natural processes. They are made up of tiny molecules that can deliver restorative properties to the systems that control our physiological state. The molecules of essential oils are so small, so efficient, they have the ability to affect every cell in your body in 20 minutes, and then be metabolized like other nutrients.
*Essential oils contain oxygen molecules that help transport nutrients to the human cells that have been damaged, compromised, and drained of nutrients. Because a nutritional deficiency is essentially an oxygen deficiency, disease begins when the cells lack oxygen for proper nutrient assimilation. By providing the needed oxygen, essential oils also work to stimulate the immune system.
*Essential oils are very powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent mutations, work to protect against free radicals, prevent fungus, and prevent oxidation in the cells.
So what can essential oils be used for?
EVERYTHING!
These tiny drops of amazingness should be a staple in your home! For taking care of your skin, rejuvenating your body, a medicine cabinet staple emotional well being and cleaning your entire surroundings without any chemicals! Not to mention a good night’s sleep!
Who can use them? Everything that breathes!
Just a note: Not all essential oils out there are good for you. Some could even have the adverse effect . I’ll make this quick because this is a whole article in its self, but it seems everybody out there has some type of “essential oil”. Its a HUGE business these days.
Fact: A company can label a bottle as being 100% pure essential oil with only 1 drop of essential oil added to that bottle! Now a plant that has been grown next to a Nuclear Waste factory that probably was grown in soil with water run off from that factory is allowed to be sold as pure also, or added as that 1 drop of 100% pure essential oil that was mixed with who knows what and sold to YOU as 100% pure…and that’s allowed by the FDA!
