I love the idea of spices with fruit because I am a huge fan of savory and sweet flavors coming together to make an epic combo. It can take a mediocre melon to pretty dang good with just a little sprinkle. I will tell you that I have found the perfect way to add a little pizazz to your next watermelon that will be a hit at any BBQ or picnic!  My chili lime salted watermelon using Lime essential oil is going to become your new favorite thing to eat this summer, and I can promise you that!

.  Do yourself a favor and make my seasoned salt to sprinkle over top of your next watermelon and you can see for yourself just how delicious this pairing actually is!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Watermelon, sliced into wedges or chopped
  • 1 Tsp. Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Lime Zest (about 3 large limes)
  • 6 drops of Young Living Lime Vitality mixed in about ¾ cup of water.
  • Chopped fresh cilantro (If desired)

  • Directions:
  • Toss your watermelon slices or wedges in your Lime Vitality water to lightly coat
  • Combine chili powder, salt, and lime zest into a mortar and pestle and muddle together until spices are combined.
  • Sprinkle liberally on top of watermelon
  • Serve immediately. Can also sprinkle the chopped Cilantro for extra color and flavor!

I’m telling you that these simple flavors are going to wow your tastebuds the next time you take a bite of watermelon!

NOTE; ORIGINAL RECIPE IS BY LEIGH ANN CHATAGNIER . I have changed it and modified it after I played around using Young Living Vitality oils and a few other tweeks to really kick it up a notch !!!
